We are a church family passionate about knowing Christ and making Him known. At JCCSM, our faith is rooted in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. This page provides an introduction to who we are, what we believe, and the biblical principles that guide our teaching and ministry.

Our Statement of Faith

God
We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, our Savior and Lord. He died, rose again, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers, guiding them into holy living and service.

The Bible

Salvation
Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. All who believe receive forgiveness and eternal life.

The Church
The Church is the body of Christ called to worship God, grow in faith, and make disciples of all nations.

         JESUS CHRIST the CHIEF SHEPHERD MINISTRY is a Christ-Centered, Bible believing and Disciple Making Church: Committed to advance the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to Individuals, Families, Communities and Nations through dynamic Discipleship, Evangelism, Mission, Bible Study, Cell Group, Sunday School, Relief Services, Praying for you and HOLY Christian Living.

 

VISION STATEMENT

         WE, envisioned that ALL members in the church must be MATURED in Christian Living; EQUIPPED in the knowledge of the Holy Scripture; MOBILIZED in reaching and influencing others to become part of the Local Fellowship capable to fulfil and Obey God’s Command and PLANT daughter churches within the city, municipality and nations.

 

GOAL and OBJECTIVE

 

         To spread out and saturate the word of God in the entire city, municipality, province and nations.

These theological advisories are issued to provide biblical clarity, pastoral guidance, and doctrinal balance on secondary or non-essential matters of theology. While JCCSM affirms the absolute authority of Scripture and its core doctrines as stated in its Statement of Faith, these advisories exist to guide believers in areas where faithful Christians may hold differing views, encouraging unity, maturity, and Christ-centered living.

JCCSM Advisory on Theological Systems and Doctrinal Perspective


Jesus Christ the Chief Shepherd Ministry (JCCSM) issues this advisory to clarify our theological posture, particularly regarding major theological systems (e.g., Calvinism, Arminianism, and related frameworks), for the sake of transparency, unity, and faithful discipleship. This advisory does not replace our Statement of Faith but explains how we understand, teach, and apply doctrine within the life of the church.

Our desire is to be biblically faithful, Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and mission-driven, while avoiding unnecessary division among believers over secondary theological systems.


Our Supreme Authority: Holy Scripture

JCCSM affirms that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God in the original manuscripts and the only final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, life, and practice.

All theological reflection, doctrinal formulation, and ministry practice within JCCSM are subject to Scripture. No theological system, tradition, confession, or teacher is regarded as equal to or above the authority of the Bible.


Our Position on Theological Systems

JCCSM recognizes that throughout church history, sincere and godly believers have sought to systematize biblical teaching into theological frameworks such as Calvinism and Arminianism. While these systems may offer helpful insights, we affirm that no system perfectly or exhaustively explains the fullness of biblical revelation.

Therefore:

  • JCCSM does not officially align itself with any single theological system.

  • We reject the elevation of systems above Scripture.

  • We affirm that Scripture contains both clear teachings and reverent mysteries that require humility.

Our doctrinal convictions are drawn directly from Scripture and expressed in our Statement of Faith, not derived from allegiance to any theological camp.


God’s Sovereignty and Human Responsibility

JCCSM affirms both:

  • The absolute sovereignty of God in creation, redemption, and consummation; and

  • The real responsibility of human beings to repent, believe the gospel, and obey Christ.

We affirm that:

  • Salvation is wholly by the grace of God, accomplished through the atoning work of Jesus Christ.

  • The gospel is genuinely offered to all people.

  • Those who respond in faith do so by the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.

We acknowledge that Scripture presents these truths side by side without fully resolving the mystery of their relationship. JCCSM therefore refuses to deny either divine sovereignty or human responsibility in order to preserve a theological system.


Salvation and the Order of God’s Saving Work

JCCSM teaches that salvation includes God’s gracious work of calling, regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. We affirm that:

  • Regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God.

  • Justification is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

  • Sanctification is progressive and evidenced by repentance, obedience, and Christlike character.

While theologians may debate the logical ordering of these aspects of salvation, JCCSM emphasizes that salvation is ultimately God’s work, personally experienced by sinners who trust in Jesus Christ.


The Extent and Sufficiency of the Atonement

JCCSM affirms that the death of Jesus Christ is:

  • Fully sufficient for the sins of the whole world; and

  • Effectively applied to those who believe in Him.

We reject any teaching that limits the free and sincere proclamation of the gospel to all people or suggests that God takes no genuine interest in the salvation of the lost.


Perseverance, Assurance, and Christian Living

JCCSM teaches that all who truly trust in Jesus Christ are granted eternal life and are kept by God’s power. Genuine faith, however, is evidenced by:

  • A growing sensitivity to sin

  • Repentance and confession

  • Obedience to Christ

  • Active participation in the Great Commission

We reject both legalism, which bases salvation on works, and cheap grace, which denies the necessity of transformation and discipleship.


Doctrine in Service of Discipleship and Mission

JCCSM affirms that sound doctrine exists to:

  • Glorify God

  • Proclaim the gospel

  • Build up the church

  • Equip believers for obedience and mission

Theological reflection must never distract from Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations. Unity in the gospel and obedience to Christ take precedence over debates on secondary theological issues.


Our Commitment

JCCSM commits itself to:

  • Biblical fidelity over system loyalty

  • Humility in doctrinal discussion

  • Charity toward fellow believers

  • Clarity in essential doctrines

  • Faithfulness to Christ’s mission

We welcome theological dialogue within the boundaries of Scripture and love, while firmly upholding the core truths expressed in our Statement of Faith.

Doctrinal Advisory on Healing and the Work of the Holy Spirit

 

Introduction

Jesus Christ the Chief Shepherd Ministry (JCCSM) affirms the authority of Scripture as the final rule for faith and practice and upholds a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, and disciple-making identity. In light of questions concerning healing and the work of the Holy Spirit, this advisory is provided to give clarity, pastoral guidance, and doctrinal balance consistent with our Statement of Faith.


Our Affirmation

JCCSM affirms that God is sovereign and continues to work in the world today through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (Psalm 115:3; John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8). We believe that healing and other miraculous works may still occur according to God’s will and purpose, particularly as they serve to glorify Jesus Christ and advance the gospel (Matthew 9:35; Acts 3:6–8; Hebrews 2:3–4).

Prayer for the sick is encouraged, and believers are called to trust in God’s compassion, power, and wisdom (James 5:14–16). We acknowledge that God may choose to heal in various ways, including immediate healing, gradual recovery, or sustaining grace in suffering (2 Corinthians 12:7–10; Philippians 4:13).


Biblical Balance

While we affirm God’s power to heal, JCCSM does not teach that healing is automatic, guaranteed, or demanded by faith (2 Corinthians 12:8–9; 1 Timothy 5:23). Neither do we regard physical healing or miraculous manifestations as necessary proofs of salvation or spiritual maturity (Matthew 7:22–23; Galatians 5:22–23).

The Holy Spirit distributes His gifts according to His sovereign will, not according to human expectation or formula (1 Corinthians 12:4–11). We recognize that faithful believers may experience sickness or suffering, and that God is glorified not only through healing, but also through perseverance, obedience, and hope amid trials (Romans 5:3–5; James 1:2–4).


Pastoral Guidance

JCCSM calls its leaders and members to approach the subject of healing with pastoral sensitivity, humility, and biblical discernment (Micah 6:8; Philippians 2:3–5). Teachings and practices related to healing must always align with Scripture and reflect the character of Christ—marked by love, truth, and care for the whole person (Ephesians 4:15; Colossians 1:28).

We encourage prayerful dependence on God rather than prescriptive formulas or pressure-filled expectations (Proverbs 3:5–6; Zechariah 4:6). Testimonies and experiences, while meaningful, must never become the basis of doctrine nor a measure of faith (2 Peter 1:16–21).

Our desire is that discussions and practices concerning healing would strengthen faith, preserve unity, and support our shared calling to honor God, mature believers, and raise disciples who faithfully follow Christ and help others follow Him (Matthew 28:19–20; Ephesians 4:11–13).

I. Doctrinal Foundation

JCCSM affirms that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, continues to work sovereignly in the Church in accordance with the completed canon of Scripture (John 16:13–14; 2 Timothy 3:16–17).

We affirm that spiritual gifts were given for the edification of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:11–13). These gifts are distributed according to the sovereign will of God and are not uniformly possessed by all believers (1 Corinthians 12:11, 29–30).

JCCSM further affirms the sufficiency and finality of Scripture as the only infallible rule of faith and practice. The faith has been once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3). Therefore, no contemporary spiritual manifestation may add to, supersede, or rival biblical revelation.


II. On Speaking in Tongues

JCCSM acknowledges that Scripture records the gift of tongues as a legitimate spiritual gift (Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12–14). We therefore affirm that God is able, according to His sovereign will, to grant such a gift today.

However, JCCSM formally teaches:

  1. Speaking in tongues is not the necessary evidence of salvation.

  2. Speaking in tongues is not the required evidence of the baptism or fullness of the Holy Spirit.

  3. Speaking in tongues is not a measure of spiritual maturity or superiority.

  4. Not all believers are given this gift (1 Corinthians 12:29–30).

If practiced within the church:

  • It must be orderly (1 Corinthians 14:27, 40).

  • It must include interpretation in public settings (1 Corinthians 14:28).

  • It must not produce confusion, division, or doctrinal instability.

JCCSM rejects any teaching that pressures believers to demonstrate tongues as proof of spirituality or divine acceptance.


III. On Prophecy

JCCSM recognizes that the New Testament describes prophecy as a gift given for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3).

However, we firmly maintain:

  1. The biblical canon is complete and closed.

  2. No contemporary prophetic utterance carries canonical authority.

  3. No prophecy may establish new doctrine or alter the apostolic faith.

  4. All prophetic impressions must be tested against Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:20–21; 1 John 4:1).

Any claimed prophetic word must:

  • Be consistent with Scripture.

  • Exalt Christ (Revelation 19:10).

  • Promote holiness and unity.

  • Be subject to pastoral oversight and communal discernment (1 Corinthians 14:29).

JCCSM rejects ongoing revelatory authority equal to Scripture and rejects any form of authoritarian prophetic control.


IV. Pastoral and Ecclesiastical Guardrails

To preserve doctrinal integrity and congregational unity, JCCSM upholds the following safeguards:

  • Scripture governs all spiritual experience.

  • Christ remains the center, not manifestations.

  • The fruit of the Spirit is the primary evidence of spiritual maturity (Galatians 5:22–23).

  • Church leadership bears responsibility for maintaining order and doctrinal purity (Acts 20:28; Titus 1:9).

No spiritual expression may undermine the gospel, disrupt church order, or distract from the mission of making disciples (Matthew 28:19–20).


V. Doctrinal Position Summary

JCCSM’s position may be summarized as:

  • Affirming the sovereignty of the Spirit

  • Affirming the possibility of gifts

  • Denying normative or required manifestations

  • Rejecting extra-biblical revelation

  • Insisting upon biblical order and pastoral oversight

We seek neither to quench the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19) nor to grieve Him through disorder, pride, or doctrinal deviation (Ephesians 4:30).


Concluding Affirmation

The ultimate work of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ (John 16:14), to convict of sin, to regenerate hearts, and to conform believers into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).

Therefore, JCCSM declares that the clearest evidence of the Spirit’s presence is not ecstatic speech but Christlike character, faithful obedience, and steadfast devotion to the Word of God.

JCCSM Advisory on Eschatology

Introduction

The doctrine of last things (eschatology) has been a source of encouragement, hope, and at times debate within the Christian church throughout history. In JCCSM, we recognize the importance of holding a clear, biblical hope regarding the return of Jesus Christ, while also exercising humility and charity in areas where faithful believers may differ.

This advisory is provided to clarify JCCSM’s eschatological convictions as grounded in our Statement of Faith, to guide teaching and discussion within the church, and to preserve unity and Christ-centered living as we await the Lord’s return.

Our Authority: The Scriptures

JCCSM affirms that the Holy Scriptures are the final and sufficient authority for all matters of faith and doctrine, including eschatology (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21). While theological systems may help organize biblical data, no system supersedes Scripture itself (Acts 17:11).


Core Eschatological Affirmations

1. The Personal, Visible, and Imminent Return of Christ

JCCSM believes that Jesus Christ will personally and bodily return in glory. His second coming is certain and imminent, calling believers to live in readiness and holiness.

Biblical support: Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7; Titus 2:13


2. The Gathering of Believers and the Future Reign of Christ

We affirm that Christ will receive His people to Himself and will establish His earthly kingdom, reigning over Israel and all nations, bringing peace and blessing according to God’s redemptive plan.

Biblical support: John 14:2–3; Revelation 20:1–6; Isaiah 2:2–4; Luke 1:32–33; Zechariah 14:9


3. The Bodily Resurrection and Eternal Destinies

JCCSM affirms the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust. Believers will enjoy eternal life in conscious blessedness with Christ, while those who reject Christ will face eternal separation and judgment.

Biblical support: Daniel 12:2; John 5:28–29; 1 Corinthians 15:20–23; Revelation 20:11–15


Areas of Humble Reserve

While affirming these biblical essentials, JCCSM does not mandate adherence to a specific prophetic timetable or detailed sequence of end-time events. Scripture does not resolve all tensions regarding the order and timing of eschatological events, and faithful believers have historically held differing views.

Therefore, JCCSM allows liberty of conscience on matters such as:

  • The precise timing of Christ’s return for believers

  • The structure and duration of tribulation events

  • Detailed interpretive frameworks of Revelation

Biblical posture: Deuteronomy 29:29; 1 Corinthians 13:12; Romans 14:1–5


Pastoral Guidance for Teaching and Discussion

  1. Major on the Hope, Not Speculation
    Eschatology should strengthen faith, endurance, and obedience rather than promote fear, division, or endless speculation (1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; Hebrews 10:24–25).

  2. Promote Watchfulness and Godly Living
    The primary biblical emphasis of Christ’s return is ethical and missional—calling believers to holiness, faithfulness, and perseverance (Matthew 24:42–46; 2 Peter 3:11–14).

  3. Preserve Unity in the Body of Christ
    Discussions on end-times must be conducted with humility, love, and respect, recognizing that unity in Christ outweighs agreement on secondary prophetic details (Ephesians 4:1–6; Colossians 3:12–15).

  4. Encourage Faithful Witness and Discipleship
    The certainty of Christ’s return motivates the church to proclaim the gospel and help believers grow in maturity until He comes (Matthew 28:19–20; 2 Timothy 2:2).


Concluding Affirmation

JCCSM joyfully confesses the blessed hope of the Church—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we await His return, we commit ourselves to faithful worship, holy living, gospel proclamation, and mutual encouragement, trusting that God will accomplish all things according to His perfect will.

Pastoral Guidance

Fasting is encouraged as a voluntary act of humility and dependence on God, never as a means of earning favor or spiritual superiority.
